There should be some who have installed these in past needs to chime in. It might make a difference as to where it is installed.

I would be inclined to install it in the return line; keep the heat away from that filter and maybe not hinder the return of the fluid to pan. This would take someone with trans smarts whick I am lacking (without).

glasmiths, the instructions are quite empahatic about installing the filter in the "hot" line, from the transmission to the cooler. i don't remember the reason, other than to get an accurate measurement of the temp. i think i remember it had to do with the pressure. on the way in this am, noticed the transmission shifts and the truck goes real nice. guess i'll leave it... .
