DBazley: I am presuming the Perma Shield will inhibit the adhesion of primer and paint. Is this correct? If it is, what is required to remove the product so paint will adhere?

Hello Blake,

Glad to hear the Perma Shield is doing well for you. It's strong suit is durability, so let the PA weather give it a test. Do you guys get a bit of snow ?

Our conditions here (near Anza, CA) are tough: wind, heat, dust, freezing temps & winter snow & ice. I get about 10 months of nice protection & great shine. Matter of fact, last time was late September last fall, so almost 1 year. When washed, most think it was done just last month or so.

Good thing, too, cause my carport project is stalled, just a pile of lumber & steel right now !!

Jammar, good standard body shop prep takes it right off, as would be advised if one were using any finish care product. '

The problem with adhesion of repaint jobs is more to do with "cheap shops" (ie "We'll paint your whole car for only $ 39. 95 !), that don't do proper prep, than any thing you might use on your finish.

Good shops (I look for a show where you can deal with the owner) do correct prep, and the price will reflect that. If you're curious, it will include: mineral de-waxing, sanding & tack-cloth & that twice.

Basically, you get what you pay for.

Best Regards to you,

David B.

See ya there??

Bob:

Really, I love ONION burgers. Which stand ? It will help, you see, to know, because a guy could get weighing about 300 lbs if he tries EVERY burger stand just to find the real deal.

Actually, I've had the EarthQuake burgers, and they were super.

Is that the one ?

By all means, if you visit Puyallup, stop by & say hey to a fellow TDR guy !

David B. :)

Oh yea, we generally get a heep of it! Two or three feet on the ground is very common. Had over 5 feet in 4 days in 1996! I think the total for the season is between 150 and 200 inches.

Good thing we have several salt mines in our back yard, so they can pile that stuff on heavy:mad:

I must be the black sheep then.

My order is almost a month late, (supposedly had problems with customs shipping and their shipper)

my e-mails are not replied to (though they were very prompt at repying a few weeks ago)

their phone number is not working ( not from Canada anyway)

my card is billed

I have no other way of getting a hold of them. Can you help?

My last post may have sounded like something was wrong...

All seems OK right now.

The Co. called me today.

Seems my shipment is still tied up at Cdn customs. something to do with 9-11. Thanks to whomever pointed out my problem to them as their phone # does not seem to work too well north of 60.

I placed an order and did not get the discount, so I guess the 10% off for TDR members has expired.

I think only free shipping was the deal, but it might have expired.

Perma Shield did give me the 10% off TDR discount. It did not show on the internet order form, it was marked down later.
