Any info from those of you that have permanently attached the pump wire...

Do you solder to the pump wire. . or remove the cover and solder there?? Just looking for ideas from someone who was been there. . and done that...

Thanks guys...

Bryan

I soldered mine...

I had a 2000 2500 that the scotch locks had buggered the wire all up. I finally soldered a permanent lead with a plug attached. I used liquid electric tape to insulate it.

My current setup on my 3500 is the grabber by TST. It works good and easy to install.

I did the same as wiredawg, soldered a lead directly to the pump wire and put a connector on the end of that. Sealed the wire with a liquid sealer.

That was kind of my plan. . additional connector is no problem... I just didn't know of there was a better place under the cover...

Thanks guys. .

I just soldered the wire from the Edge wire harness right into the pump wire. I used regular black electrical tape to wrap it though  Has been since the summer of 2002, and no problems with it yet.

I still use the origional connector edge supplied with my "Power Edge". It was a tiny black box with a pin that pierced the wire. The box broke in two pieces and you just snaped it over the wire. I know they don't send them anymore, but mine has served me well for over 2. 5 years.

If I was doing it again I would use the pump cover as it is a clean way to do it and the least noticeable way if you wanted to go in for warranty work.

Just looking for others opinions. . Thanks guys... I know about the pump cover... but I think I'll just solder it on with a connector... I have over 103K on the truck... and over 70K with the pump wire tapped. . tapped with the little blue scotch lock that came with the box... but I had the harness off and had it disconnected. . Now with the injectors in and the box. . I am getting a little surging... I just think I have a weak connection at the scotch lock. (I will be trying a different box in a few weeks. )

Thanks guys. .
