Bob,

I went to the permetech here in Denver. It looks like a great product. They had a sample of the glow in the dark stuff. He put it outside for about 1 min. We then took it into an interior office (no windows) and turned off the lights. Holy cow its bright!!! The pictures are not exaggerated!! You would definately be able to see what was in your bed without the light.

My thoughts on it: It would be real cool for the first month, then the novelty would wear off and it would just annoy me. :(

It's a great bed liner though.

One other thing. They mix the colors INTO the coating. Rhino paints the color on top of the coating. That means if you get a color Rhino and scratch it, it will be black. The permatech color goes all the way through.

I surely hope your sitting down when you hear the price Gene.

I looked into it long time ago, but didn't feel like spending $1500+ for a bed liner at the time. So I just opted for the "Color matched" with metallic flakes in it.

My concern with the glow in the dark bedliner is what would it look like after you've used the bed and have some oil stains, grease stains, deer blood, etc in there? With the textured surface it would be a major PITA to clean - that's why I've always gone with a black bedliner - hides the grease better. JMHO

Kat,

They came down in price ALOT. Currently in Denver, black was $100 less than the big names, the color and glow in the dark were only $50-$100 more than black depending on what you wanted.

Steve,

Have you ever considered having the bed liner look like grease and deer gut stains? You might start a new trend! :D

Where is the perma-tech dealer here in Denver area?

How fine/smooth is the texture? Is it similar to Line-X? I ask since I'm considering having my rocker panels sprayed if I can find a bedliner texture with a smooth enough texture. Just don't think a rough or gloopy texture would look good sprayed on the rocker panels.

Tuff,

They are at 6125 E. 56th Ave. That's west of Quebec just north of I-270. Check the link on Bob's post above. Follow the local dealer links to the Colorado one, there is a map on their site. It's a small shop and easy to drive past. They are real nice guys who will take time to show you around and talk your ears off.

As to the texture, as memory serves (and it may not), it has a light texturing to it, kind of like sand in the mixture. Not the big glopy type. There was a truck that they had just sprayed there the day I went. To wet to play with, but looked very nice. They had good, smooth, straight lines.

Steve,

What a novel idea! The dealers keep telling me that no one does such a thing. I'll have to look into it. Oo.

Do you know where I might find such information? A web site and magazine perhaps?

Rhino color matched liner

I have a color matched rhino liner in my '01 and it is the same color all the way through. So they must have mixed it in where I had it done.

Gene already glows in the dark from all that Iron City beer he drinks. :D I can't wait until I finally get my Perma-Tech training behind me and get set up, I'm considering spraying it in on top of the Line-X that's already there in my truck bed. Only drawback is, it'll hide the unsightly gouges and peel-aways that will make such an effective marketing "show-and-tell" :D for my new dealership :D Seriously, I doubt any spray-in would hold up to the abuse I put mine through. I don't go out of the way to abuse it, but I do use my truck, that's what I bought it for. It should be interesting to compare the durability between the two brands in my case.

Hey Steve !!!!

What do you mean use your truck as a truck?????,,I guess that since mine never hauls anything unless its in a box and is not dirty its not a truck??,,Dirt and unwanted materials go into trailers not my truck bed and I won't even go into how hard it is to keep my inner fenderwells shined up,,Gene, man can you already picture this, a glow in the dark red bedliner for my truck and the inner fenderwells done too,wow what a sight,,Got my mind a going now, instead of flogging the ricer pukes on Saturday nites, glow in the dark liners and some neons and I can blind them... ... .....
