I'm getting ready to change/flush my coolant. I can turn my petcock valve a quarter turn counter clockwise but nothing drains out. Is there something I'm missing? Do I need to pull out after performing the quarter counter clockwise turn? Thanks

Nevermind, I just had to take my thong off and put a little muscle into it. I've read a lot of horror stories about breaking the valve off. I have another valve on standby bu that doesn't mean I want to use it...

Yes, Pull it gently out after the quarter turn.

I can open my drain 1 1/2 rounds (NO MORE) and it will drain slowly. I would not pull on the petcock - it is plastic and might pull loose.

Drain plug

I just pulled mine today. The plug has about 1" of thread on it. Unscrew it all the way and pull it completely out. You will have a gusher.

I never had the continuous spin problem but it was difficult to get it to the "open" position the first time. One other observation I made while flushing my system... . my valve was very positional. It would drain about 5 times faster when I had it positioned just right in the open position so if you are draining your system and think it is draining slower than you think it should; give the petcock valve a turn using very small movements until the stream improves
