He was fired from CNN in 1970 for pretty much the same crap. He just outright makes up his own lies about whatever he wants to report on. Kind of like the anti's. He only hears and reports what he wants to.

Arnett was with my unit in Vietnam for a couple of weeks in '67. Although I thought the guy was a arrogant a-hole I'll give him plenty of points for bravery, he went right out on patrol without any babysitting whatsoever and many times was in the heat of things just as much as the guys doing the fighting. He does tells things the way he sees them, just like any other reporter, just shouldn't have communicated it to the enemy, which in itself is pretty nebulous anyways since the enemy nowadays can pick up any news report they want off the internet or dish then rebroadcast it.

We wouldn't want to know what is really going on in the world would we? Any news that is contrary to the our dear Presidents plan could cause people not to like war anymore. Wouldn't want that now would we? I mean when the president throws the next war, nobody may show up!

Maybe if he drops his tape recorder and helped somebody, but not just for putting themselves in harm way.



They are story hungry, and looking for the big kill. All too often, if no big kill shows itself, they invent one.



They are, however, a step above liberal war protesters.



I like that Rick Levanthol for FOX, he seems honest and scared as hell, and humbled.



The Arentts and Geraldos are never humbled.

To me, Arnett attempted to comprimise both the safety and morale of our troops. He deserves much worse than just being fired.
