Finally got around to installing my boost gauge and wiring the pyro. I lost one of my 1/8" fittings and Home Depot only has 1/4" or larger. So with everything being "Phat" nowdays, why not a Phat boost fitting? It's 1/4" tubing rated for 150psi. I already have a 1/4"NPT tap so I was set to go. Since I still miss my '01. 5, I decided to reuse the under dash pod for awhile and I'll install them back in the dash cubby when I hook up the transmission temp gauge. I kinda like 'em down there. They're actually easier to see for my far sighted eyes than the A-pillar or dash cubby. Check 'em out in my album...

i used 1/4"OD nylon [translucent in color like pics above] tubing when i plumbed the boost for my tahoe when i had her, and just yesterday, i plumbed in a boost/vac gauge for my friend in his little turbo mazda. for that i used 1/4"OD synflex airbrake line that i had lying around [this was black in color] came out pretty good. the 1/4" line is suppose to make the gauge a bit more sluggish when boosting due to the larger internal volume. i dunno if it does or not cause i have never used the 1/8" line.

I don't know about that either. Occording to physics, a bumble bee can't fly. All I know is when I get on the loud peddle, boost jumps right up to 23psi. Can't ask for more than that!;)

who knows... one nice thing though about the 1/4" stuff, if you go with synflex type air brake line, it is avalable in different colors:D:D i have black and red at home, but i have seen green, blue, yellow and white in catalogs. could be nice for customizing;) i wonder how the synflex would hold up to oil or fuel for mechanical pressure gauges?

IIRC the pressure rating of Synflex goes down with a rise in temperature to the point that you would exceed the rating of the tubing with engine oil pressure. It is nice stuff. I used the 1/8" for my boost line with the push lock fittings. Very nice for attaching where its tough to get your hands.
