I have been looking for a Turbo for my 99 5 speed & can't decide which one to get. I have an Edge Comp, stage 3 injectors, Volant stage 2 intake, Superchips tuner 3705, Big Fuel Kit [Bullydog holley blue], 4 inch exhaust, & I own a Excavating company. Always towing whatever fits on my trailer [usually 7-8 ton] I just want some opinions on which turbo would be best for my truck, & What can I expect for my money. So far I'm leaning toward the 64, because I've heard it spools quickly. Lets get some opinions from the guys using them. Please help.

i love my 66, on my truck it spools very fast. i have towed 4-6k with it and it does fine, even with my tight auto.

it is no slouch on my truck, it gits up and rolls. i love it, it is down right violant especially if you roll on the throttle.

You will want to go with a PS62 or a PS64. The SPS66 has a surging problem when towing heavy loads. The SPS66 is really a specialty turbo designed for the high HP crowd that races and/or sledpulls.

With you current setup I would recommend iether the PS62 or the SPS62, this is a great turbo with great spoolup and egt reduction. Give us a call if we can answer any questions.

Doug Smith[/QUOTE]What is the difference in ps62 & sps62? Also, later I plan on bigger injectors & who knows what will come out later for this thing, I only want to deal with this turbo issue once. Thanks for the info guys, keep em comin :)

Cummins724,

Decide how much HP and how you want to use your truck this will help determine the best way to achieve this goal... . The PS62 and SPS62 will support up to 550 HP. The difference between the two is in the exhaust housing and wheel, there is a ton of machining and a different wheel that increases spoolup and decreases backpressure. Both are great turbos its just that the SPS62 is more of a better thing ;)

i second the 62 :) Love the spool up and runs cool too. Like others have said if you plan on 550+ you may want to go bigger. I don't have as much power yet(mach 4's on the way) but was told this turbo would be the best setup and so far so good. I have also heard that the bigger ones ... 66etc are for extreme duty :-laf . What's to say we won't get there though.

I agree on the sps 62. Awesome turbo with great responce time, and fairly easy to install. bbodammer, I knew you couldn't resist getting the Mach 4's. Trying to keep up with the 3rd gen. LOL! Get them in before we go see John so we know what your dyno #'s will be.
