I was originally looking at twins, but after talking to several people (and looking at the wallet) I was thinking that a well built single would do the job. My horsepower goal falls right into the range for the ps62 or sps62, what I'm asking is what is the big differance in seat of the pants feel between the two, and how fast do they spool up. Thanks for your help.

I run mostly with my tst off and the ez on level 1 (of 3). My super 62 spools up quick and smooth and has barely any surge and then only with heavy loads (6-8 tons) up long hills in 5th gear and you can hardly notice it (in 4th doing 50 there is none and it the egts are 1100). With the truck unloaded and the tst on 9 it just lights off with a vengence. rear end walks out and the tires beg for mercy. If you drive easy it behaves quite well too. I have been thinking about bigger injectors and Orings to let it breath all it can but I am really happy with it now. I would guess I am somewhere in the mid 500's for HP.

Gustafson,

The difference between the PS62 and the SPS62 has to do with the exhaust... . In the case with the "Super" Phat Shaft 62 they use the larger turbine wheel from a Super Phat Shaft 66 with the 62mm compressor wheel. The difference this makes is faster spoolup and reduced backpressure.

BTW, I bought all my stuff from Doug and he did a great job in helping me get it sorted out and answered all my questions happily. I highly recommend him.

just a quick one for Doug,

Do you mean that the improvement of the sps over the ps is BOTH faster spoolup AND reduced back pressure or Reduced backpressure and increased flow at the cost of spoolup.

If you get BOTH better flow and spool why would anyone want the regular PS?

Cost! The 62 is not an expensive turbo, but once you start doing all the machine work that is required for the Phat Shaft's it starts climbing... ... . normal here.

Time to update all of my notes. the sps62 sounds like just what I am looking for. Thank you very much for the help. It is always appreciated.
