Would the Phat Shaft 66 be a good single turbo 2 run with the Power max cr on a 06? Has any one installed one of these turbos on there truck, maybe like an 05 or newer, sure would like 2 here some thoughts on these turbos!!

I would search around in regard to this turbo. I have read many articles over the last month or two regarding this turbo. Sounds like a nice add on...

Merry Xmas... . Jeff

I had to re-read this several times, because '2' was incorrectly used as 'to'.

After figuring out the question, do a search, there are numerous posts on the 66. I have one and it works great for a 6 speed, 05. If I towed a lot, I might go to the hybred 62 with the 66 exhaust that someone else is testing right now.

I sure like it on my '04. I'm not sure that I would want it for towing, however. When it comes on, it comes on hard and fast. You can keep it at a "midpoint" of boost if you need to, but on my truck it usually surges if I do under a load. Awesome turbo though! :D

Totally depends on what you want to do with your truck as well as how you drive!

My opinion based on starting with a HTB2/62/12 followed by a HTB2/62/14 followed by a SPS 66 and now finally with a SPS 62 on my 2003 truck:

SPS 66 for all out drag racing, sled pulling, top end high power that's cool EGT wise

SPS 62 for towing, stoplight-to-stoplight city driving mayhem

I'm the one "testing" the SPS 66 converted to a 62 hybrid. I requested this change after towing with the 66 and wanted to minimize $ spent. With my good fortune :D it just so happened that Industrial Injection wanted to test this design anyway. It retains the Super Phat Shaft design of the 66 on the exhaust side and main cartridge, but has the guaranteed surge-less 62 extended tip compressor wheel with matching compressor housing.

Industrial Injection is also experimenting with some twins so the 62 will give a good base for a nice "towing twins" set-up - just thinking ahead a bit :D !

Anyhow, the above is just my opinion for whatever it's worth. Do a search, especially in the past 3 months, and you'll find more than enough information to make your decision even more confusing.

I want to do some drag raceing, SLED PULLIN and daily driveing... . u know mess with the mustangs and imports alittle bit!!!

If your not towing go ahead and go w/the 66. JSteiger's hybrid sounds very cool I bet it doesn't bark like a pure 66, that might be the best of both worlds.

I like my sps66 but like anything it's a tradeoff. This spring I WILL be outfitting my truck with II's twins. It seems like every power monger eventually ends up with twins.

Yep, I am thinking about twins too, once industrial gets their kit together...

I like the idea of using the sps66 and hy35 too. Sure would make a cost effective set of twins!! I wonder if they would flow enough, I would hate to have to get all new plumbing if I wanted bigger. So perhaps the 66 hybridized on top and a locomotive turbo on bottom. :-laf

I can see my wallet gettin' real skinny.

I smell a roadtrip coming on to Raschein's place!!!

I'm so envious of you as well as SRadke and Robert Yoke that have the fabrication skills and facilities to do the custom twins setups!

What is the max boost that one should run on a stock engine, i guess what im trying to ask is at what point is a stud kit needed? Im planning on runing the tst with the sps 66, will this be a streetable combo or should i look at another turbo?
