I believe Industrial Injection sets the wastegate before it leaves salt lake city. . I believe they start opening at 40, and wont go higher then like 50 or 52. If you want it gated to go NO higer then 40, then i believe brett or brady said they have an extension peice for the wastegate arm. . Hopefully they will chime in. .

I am just fishing for the limit of this chargers efficiency. If its 60 (not saying it is or could be) then I would set it to 60 and do what ever I needed to to keep the head on.

Im just guessing here, but I would say they set it at 50 because that is a good number for it to be at. I would also guess that that is approaching the upper limits of effeciency range of this turbo. . Im sure you can run higher boost numbers, but i dont know that it would do you any good. Someone please correct me if i am way off!!!!

Is there 1 size exhaust housing (12cm or 14cm) on the SPS 62?

Can a PS 62/12 be converted to a SPS 62? Ballpark price?

I replaced the boost elbow on the PS with a straight through one. I also lengthened the actuator rod to get the wastegate to open sooner. I have the OEM headgasket too.

I have mine down to never more than 45 by backing the set screw in the elbo almost all the way out but it seemed to run better when It was all the way in... 51-52 on occasion never hurt anything right?

I too am interested in the SPS upgrade, PM ME a price brett-when you get a min.

would the change from 50,000 to 70,000 hurt longevity or is that slow compared to others?

Is it worth the money to upgrade to a super phat shaft? I have a ps62/14 now and would like to add alittle more fuel and have a little better spool up. What kind of price does it cost for a upgrade? Thanks Jason

The super upgrade is the best mod that you can do to your truck. Initial spoolup from a 62 to a 62 super will not be to different, but the super will build boost twice faster & keep cooler. The upgrade price is around $300-$400 & worth every penny. I have the LDP wheel, but have tried the super 62/80 on a friends truck & it rocks.

So what would you recomend for me? with my setup? looking for the same or better flow with the quickest possible spool for low-end smoke control.

the only thing I might change is add a cam and that would spool any charger better

Leave the catcher out of it too I quit using it cause its just too hard to drive, I like using ALL my fuel petal.

If you are looking to get faster initial spoolup... Just call II & get a smaller 12cm housing & you will see better initial spoolup & egt's won't change too much. If the cam is in the future... . it should get you spooled up a little faster than what you have now & maybe you should wait to try that first, because it might make the difference that you are looking for.

not looking for faster initial spool but better spool overall looking to make the big Hook where it goes from 10 to 51 happen sooner and with less smoke all the way

bottom line the SPS is always been touted as more of a good thing over the PS so im ready for the "more" I woulda got the SPS initially but I got in on a sort of group buy and couldn't afford not to start with the PS62/14 for price reasons and the SPS was still in the prototype stage. I was dead set on geting my PS upgraged to SPS then allong comes this Silver option with the clipped wheel now im not sure what is what or what to even ask for.

I haven't tried out a silver so I can't help you there, but I know that a sps 62/80 is a great upgrade over the ps62 for faster spool from 10-50. I love the killer wheels [LDP] because I tow everyday & need instant peak boost to get a heavy load moving.

I just ordered myself a early xmas present. Getting the SPS 62/12. Talked to jetpilot today and went by his recommendation. Thanks much Doug

Good choice... . I think that will be a good turbo for you. The 12 housing will lite it off quick & the super wheel will cool it quicker.

You will like the SPS. I love mine, but I think I need to go bigger than the sps62/14 or get smaller sticks. Dont want to put smaller sticks in :{ . I am dumping to much fuel in. A bigger turbo would burn more of the fuel for me I guess.

why do you say you need a bigger turbo ? are you at high elevation? should be right on the money I never see over 1200 with my M4s
