has anybody ever ran a phoenix brand clutch I am currently running a valair with heavy duty spring hub. also with the heavy duty hub I had to have the hole for the hub bored out to 7 inches if the new clutch spring hub is smaller will it still work OK?

400 miles on a Phoenix Stage 3/ 13" conversion kit for NV4500 on my 98 12V Dooley ... . Love it!... . but had to go for South Bend HD hydraulics to handle the clamping pressure. Not sure what you are asking about the hub... ... but all the surfaces should size the same and match. Flywheel, clutch disc and pressure plate need to be mated.

when I. put the valair clutch in I had to have the hole in the flywheel for the spring hub on the clutch disc made bigger. so what I'm wondering is will the phoenix clutch have this bigger hub

ah-so... AH. . I understand now. Can't measure my Phoenix hub ... . it's installed. Also, Mike is correct. Clutch disc should be marked "towards flywheel" which puts the hub into the pressure plate. If you are gong for a kit, Phoenix sends you everything including flywheel,so not to worry..... What went wrong with the Valair?

SB Clutch - great product great support. SB clutchs include a fly wheel. I used SBs hydraulics on my '93. I've known Peter for a long time and he is tops in my book.
