I found a company on Ebay selling a heavy duty automatic transmission good for 700HP with a billet converter all for $1995. Has anybody seen or used their product. I am starting to get some slipping of gears and really don't need a transmission much better than stock but even the local rebuilder wants about $2000 to rebuild mine.

i have one . a stage 3 . you'll pay more for the upgrade . also the convrter isnt all that ,i didnt much care for the customer "service" and the cooler they will send u wont fit. i ordered it in jan got it in feb returned what was left in 20 mi. (blew up!!) got a replacement in 5 weeks! its ok. you get a better deal paying for good parts up front the first time. u cant recoup downtime or labor /towing as easily. i also hope i have bad luck or something that this isnt normal for trans companies but i went with them after no getting return calls /e-mail from others .

Wow!! I was hoping for a better recomendation than that. You have been running since febuary of this year? And how much power are you putting thru it? Are you happy with the replacement?

currently putting 425hp through it:rolleyes: it is ok chatters at 7mph wont shift overdrive if floored . again this is the 2nd one!#@$%!

I know I am not running big hp numbers on my truck but havent had a bit of troubles out of the one I bought from them going on 3 yrs ago still running strong . pretty close to 40,000 miles but there again I am all stock except for minor pump screw turning .

Buy the extreme rebuild kit from Suncoast, a converter, any billet parts you may need depending on power and have it rebuilt locally.

take it from me i ordered some BD components and had a rebuild done locally and now i am doing it again due to failure. the rebuild and parts really wasnt that much cheaper than the Goerends that i just ordered, especially when you consider this transmission is coming with a 100,000 mile warantee and some great customer service. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!

Keep in mind, having SC, ATS, DTT, Gorened parts in a transmission does not mean anything if the installer does not put it together right. Make sure you fina a certified installer, because warranty work will be on them if the failure is not caused by a defective part.

That's way DTT only uses certified installers and will not sell you parts per say! SNOKING

thought about doing it myself <glad i didnt! the unit broke in 20 mi. !!#@$%! had it shipped directly to a reputable shop for first and second(warr)install, the shop made the warr claim and handled billing. had truck back within day of shipment:) cant imagine having to do that twice myself and tryingt o tell warr it wasnt my fault:-{} its just one of those things! next truck WILL be a stick!;)

I didn't dive too far into their ebay listing but I did not see any HP ratings... I did see where the TQ converter is supposed to be good for 850 ft/lbs, which is not really that high compaired to what some people are getting... Still seems like a good trans. for mild performance.

That is a given with transmission work.

What about Blumenthal. I was given a pretty good price for a slightly beefed up transmission. Nothing to crazy. I've also been trying to get a hold of goerend.

either way it'll cost you so do it right ! note: the tourqeconverter takes the most abuse and makes the most diff(also hardest to change comp to shift kit) so be sure its a good one!:)

i put a stage 3 transmission in my truck in july and so far it's been fine. ive towed a 11000 pound trailer and had no problems. i would prefer a multidisc tc and a firmer shift from 2nd to 3rd but i think thats my fault for getting the "towing" version vb instead of the high performance "street, strip" version. i guess we will see in the long run how it holds up.
