Yes, Please submit a picture of your install GoCarGo. I really need some backup help. For the more conventional type light installs: Are you guy mounting these directly to the rear bumper or did you make some sort of mounting bracket? The rear bumper looks awkward to mount to and be level.

On my particular install the lights are mounted to the bumper. The Cabela's kit comes with brackets,mounting hardware,wiring, single rocker switch,relay,3M double stick tape. I did not use the tape or mountings hardware figuring it would not last. What I did is on top of the bumper is the plastic insert that just pops off. Has insert tabs if you look underneath the bumper (needle nose pliers were used). Popped off the top bumper insert and had made a trip prior to Home Depot for some stainless steel bolts,nuts,and lock washers to fit the brackets.



Mounted the lights on the brackets and held them in position like I wanted and marked the holes with a felt tip pen. I then drilled though the bumper for the bolts to go thru bolt head topside (if needed you can grind down the top of the bolts a little so the insert will be able to snap back in place correctly, in my case I did not have to do that). Mounted the lights,wired them up, and re-installed the top plastic insert (no bolt head showing that way).



I just need to go back and re-wire my set up the way JCrockett had decribe.

The dealer installed my wife's Cabelas lights. I think the way Tony did it is best, I wish I'd thought of that. The dealer drilled the bumper bottom and used the stock mounting brackets. They look and work fine but unnecessary holes aren't a good thing. As Tony said, don't bother with the tape mounting, I can't see how that would stay on long term.



Also, like in Tony's pics and my wife's truck I recommend mounting them close to the hitch for protection. I still have my Cabelas lights in the package and am going to install them soon. I seem to always wait until its below 20F before I get to these things.....

I came close to buying these on Ebay, The stainless rim is nice for mounting in a chrome bumper. The link GoCarGo posted has 8 degree offset washers to aim them.



I don't know where or what the stainless ring is all about, maybe a marine application and would look nice in a chrome bumper.

They take a 37. 5W Halogen lamp but as GoCarGo said a higher wattage can be found.
