Has anyone installed the PIAA 510 lights in the factory position on a 2001?. If you did, how do you like them and did you use the factory wiring or the wire bundle from PIAA?. Thanks Gary

Where?

Where did you find the 510's? I've searched the PIAA website, EBay, and Summitt and can't find the darn things anywhere. I'm needing something else for that night driving.

Thanks, Josh.

Josh... . http://www.piaa.com/fog_lamps.html

They are also available in the driving lamp, which is what I have. They fit perfect in the Factory Fog Light insert holes... repeat, Factory Fog Light insert holes. You do not have to dim them with high beams like PIAA says if they are properly aimed. If you often drive in fog conditions, the ION Crystal lens is a better choice.

Gary... . I used the PIAA wiring bundle because I was installing them along with the Factory Fog Light inserts since my truck did not have either the insert or the lights. Separate on/off switch on the dash with the PIAA kit.

Gary, Piaa makes a mounting kit for installing the 510's in the factory location as long as it is not the sport bumper. They don't make a kit for the sport bumper as of yet so you would need to fabricate your own for this application. I did and love them. I also used the factory wiring to control the relay and threw a jumper in fuse box so the fogs don't turn off when the high beams come on.

I have the 510's in and have had both the driving lens and the Ion lens. They don't work that well and are not worth the money. I would not do it again. If you need more light get a set of the 9" PIIA's or the large set of the Lightning Force lights.

Just for the information, I just cut the connectors off of the PIIA light harness and the factory connectors and put the PIIA connectors on the truck and then use the light switch that the truck came with.

Hope everything works out for you

For those new guy and gals who are curious how to keep your fogs on with the high beams... . here's the way to do it. In the engine compartment on the drivers side fender well is a fuse box. Open it and you will see a relay labeled FOG LAMP RELAY. Now make a jumper with 1. 5 inches of wire and 2 crimp-on spade connectors. Now remove the relay and put the jumper between terminal 3 and 5. You can find the terminal #'s on the bottom of the relay. Piece of cake... ..... good luck. :)

I don't know about the Piaa 510s. Had some Piaas(don't remember the number:confused: )but I replaced them with the Catz MSC Fog Light and:--) they put out some light. Very:D
