"Mad Max" and I ran down to lubbock TX this weekend and picked up a whole frito lay truck with a 4bt in it. 55mph for 500miles in a ice box is a long drive. Time to start taking the M37 apart for the engine swap.
I bought it from a guy off ebay. He only had the one. I've seen just the engine and trannies advertised in a equipment trader newspaper geared towards construction/industrial equipment.
Wow that is too cool... I am from Keene originally, been out here in Utah for about 4 years now. Very high quality build, I wish I had taken the time to do all that when I built mine. Now will have to redo because I did not compensate for the rust properly. Are you on the 4BT yahoo group?

This sounds cool, I will have to stop by some time to check it out, I`m in Denver, and a friend of mine up here has alot of old willys jeeps (about 20 of them), and I`am planning on putting a 4bt in my 1970 FJ40 landcruiser, this spring.
If it has a VE pump, I woulda been opening up the high idle screw so you could at least run 65mph:-laf. Icebox? No heat? Something about Sam and those no heat vehicles and long drives:-laf!!
there was no problem with heat - oh wait, I was in Trevor's '99 24V all the way back - almost forgot
I tried a couple times to bomb the pump but alas, couldn't get to it. We got to thinking... okay, we're 300 miles from home, let's not bust this thing before getting it back. Sooooo we put away the tools, grabbed some coffee (Trevor poured his on his head to stay warm), and hammered North. Fun trip!
