Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Pickup stalls after startup. Anyone have any advice?

My pickup will start up every time but most of the time after sitting for several hours it will stall on first acceleration. Then it will start up with no problems. I had a mechanic tell me it was most likely a TPS which I replaced and it still does the same thing. I do have a fuel presser guage in the cab and I did notice that when it stalls it the fuel pressure goes to zero and then comes right back up to about 17-18 psi befor I restart. Any ideas?

1998. 5 2500 quad cab 4X4 automatic currently running all stock except the injector pump I replaced last summer with the pump for the 245 hp HO also replaced the lift pump at that time and installed fuel pressure guage in cab.

did a search maybe vp 44 not sure i am not much help on this problem . was this a new or used vp 44 ? i am not sure how to read codes on 98. 5 . maybe some one will chime in
