... ... In total, our group covered 2,500 KM/ 1600 miles. There were no truck failures, and minus some rain during the nights, the weather was great... ... ...

That's funny Robert :-laf I drove over 2000 miles just to get there and then another 2400 going back to Alberta.

Thanks for sharing the pics. It was a blast, and great to meet so many of you.

At the CERAland campground it was full of Cummins powered Dodges

As a Canadian I found this interesting, a campground with a shooting range at it

I assume the signatures on the red glove box door are for the project truck. Are you suggesting it might not be ready for the 2015 rally?

Great pics as usual by the way.

Nigel

Nigel,

Sorry you were not able to make it out. We did miss your company this year!

Yes, the red one is from the project truck. And yes, it will be there for 2015. But I don't know if THEY will be there. So take the opportunity when you have it, right?

Looks like a great trip, even though I didint see a certain restored Canadian 1st gen club cab dually , hmmm

No, I was devastated it could not make it. But thats fine. Next round. :(

Ouch Robert, that had to sting a little... ... ... . :D:D

Not really. he is not talking about my truck. He is talking about a club cab... . so that's not my truck... . smarty pants. :D

I'm surprised you didn't tie that Red Glovebox Cover to a flatbed so you'd have something to tow down... .

Seriously, nice job with the pics. Seth has a bunch of shots of the truck pulls. I'll see what I can steal from him to post when he is here Sunday.

Broken Arm Benny..... :)

Benny,

Was nice seeing you again!

Yes, I had considered taking the flat bed even for the sake of it one of us broke down! LOL We all know how much I love towing trailbers but I deemed it a bad idea mostly due to the condition of a MI state roads and the non flex gen 1 suspension in my truck..... my passenger was complaining enough as it was! ;)

Who owns the white 2nd gen crew cab dually? That is what I wopuld love!!

I am not 100% sure. But if you looked in the pics of the rally from the 1990s, that truck was also in those photos! Long time TDR member it would seem!

I know they didn't make them. A person has to have it done and there are only a few places in the country that does this knid of work. Even though I would love the Crew in a 2nd gen, I would prob just save my money and get a "newer" one.

Correct. Dodge never made them. But there was a few places that did. Bayer Auto out of MN or WI (can't remember) did many of them!

Awww, man. That looked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy MORE FUN than the wedding I had to be in... ... . :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{

In the Southwest, the Dodge dealers sent a few to Cleburne Custom conversions. I've had three, still have two..... :D As for testing and reviews, the dealers tried to use them as leverage against Dodge to try to get them to make them. Dodge was making too much money, and didn't have time for it... ... Bet they could use that money, now.....

I'm gonna go hide in my cave and cry while sucking my thumb, now... ..... (nice pics, BSchwarzli, thanks for sharing... . I think... )

We missed you man. Would have loved to have you there with us. The gen 1 crew was small. Could have used your sasquatch *** there. :D

Yes, your drive was a little bit further than ours! LOL Was glad you decided to come out! Was a pleasure to finally meet you in person and I hope itwas worth your trip! Also glad to hear you made it home. Was actually going to send an email to you as I estimated you would be home by now and there was still no posts from you yet so was starting to worry!

There was room for everybody

I got home Wed about 10 PM. The next day I took it easy and cleaned out my camper as it is up for sale. The neighbour is interested in buying it. Over all it was a good trip

Here are some pull truck pics:

Curt Haisley's 1,600 hp Off Constantly, First place in 3. 0 class

Eric Stacey's Smokinya with an all steel copy of the Cummins block. 2,300 hp with 3 large holset turbos.

Another triple holset turbo Cummins

A single Hx82 turbo feeding twin HX 80 turbos

That is one reason I would love to make it to the Extravaganza this year, to see the big boys play. :D

puller6.jpg

Shane Kellogg's Pull truck. The last dyno the truck ran on was a 2,500 hp water brake style. This Mighty Cummins with just 2 turbos, only 120 psi boost, killed the dyno, easily pushing well north of 2,500 hp making this the most Powerful 6. 7 liter Cummins ever. (as far as I know)

puller7.jpg

Shane's truck easily won the top class as traction is the only limiting factor.

puller8.jpg

puller9.jpg

puller10.jpg

Van Haisley's 2,000+ hp Rock Hard Ram. Even though he didn't win, All but one truck was built by Haisley Machine in this class. They are winners anyways.

Ahem, you have TWO crew cab 2nd gens?? Do I bow down now or later? Oo. My hand is being forced into a crew cab in the next year or so, as it is I plan on looking for a low mileage early 3rd gen but would be a DREAM COME TRUE to own a crew cab 2nd gen

Ohhh, so everyone wants to be a sasquatch's friend when they see the trucks they drive... ... :-laf

I don't have a pic of them side by side, but here's the '97. The '98 is in a barn on another ranch at the moment, as I've been driving the KW... . The '95 started coming apart, and the torque convertor was going away, so I sold it a few back... . I think I have some pics on TDR somewhere... .

I have hopes of driving this or my '85 to the TDR GTG next go around. (it would have made the trip this time, but I got screwed... . :{) I've got a . 20+ block I have plans on dropping in here, along with a built transmission, twins, train horns, deep seat, far away look, and a hysterical laugh ... .....

HH: Awwww!!!! That's a nice 2nd gen crew cab!!! Maybe someday for my 1997. Maybe put a long box on it. The longer, the better.

OK, so I'm slightly more than insanely jealous, that is so high on the cool factor I don't even know how to rate it

So what's the price tag on the 98? :)

I dunno, I'm kinda diggin' the short bed at the moment... ... No hitch, no room for tools... . just right for ladder bars and 38s..... :D

It's never had one... ... I got it for an '85 Fummins Crew cab 4x4 I'd fixed..... errr, uh, that got a motor upgrade... ... . :D It needs a fender at the moment. The bed met a mailbox, and they separated on violent terms.....

Kinda like the front bumper on the '97... . The plastic came off somewhere shortly after the convertor locked in overdrive and the boost went up to 38psi... ... I'd just put it on there, too... ...

Any bets on the torque convertor life?!?! 6 months? 4 months? It's already faded to the point it won't load the boost over 18psi until the convertor locks up..... :p

Mwilson: that's a nice little cabin! What was the rental charge?

Special pricing for TDR Rally on Cabins 1 and 2, $49. 00 per night. They have bigger ones as well.

Cabin 1 and 2 are laid out as shown.

Cabin 3 and 4 have a little more room, same sleeping arrangement plus a kitchen table.

Cabin 5 and 6 have two rooms with a kitchen table.

Bathroom and showers are 500' away and are very clean.

We did have a skunk living under ours, he peeked out one afternoon but we came to an agreement. We wouldn't bother him and he wouldn't bother us.

He liked music from what we could tell and we were very careful not to come upon a disco station on the radio or he surely would have sprayed.

I would not have blamed him if the Bee Gee's were playing... ... .

We figured that he was a built-in security system.

Mike.

Nice cabins..... and even nicer scenery !

Reminds me of the "jason the teenager slaughtering monster" that lived in an area that looked just like that.

You bring your hockey mask ?
