Hopefully Dodge takes care of the cracking dash issue with the 4th Generation Ram, since supposedly they are padded on the Laramie or at least higher quality (in appearance anyway).

Ever since manufacturers (at least American) began putting airbags in vehicles the dash went from a nice padded piece with some aesthetic quality to one of mostly hard cheap plastic (because the dash no longer needed to accomodate passengers in crashes).

My nephew works in a restoration shop and told me never to use Armoral or anything like it. It has something to do with the natural chemicals in the plastic or leather. He also said if you do start you can never stop or it will crack. I'm not sure how accurite he is but I do know he works in a very elite shop.

Back in the '80s I ruined the dash on my dad's car using Armorall. Never used it again.
