I am debating on getting fender flares in the near future, but have not seen any pics of any? Brand name would be appreciated. Thanks in advance:D

Hope you don't mind JRG...

I ran acrosss this picture in the readers rigs section this afternoon. These are bushwacker flares on JRG's rig.

Who makes the least agressive flares out there. I have a two tone and want to put some flares on it just so I can apint them silver and "complete" the look. I want something that is more of just a cosmetic cover than a extended flare. Any ideas??

thanks

Dave

You should look at the pocket style flares. My buddy has them on his and they are awesome. Mine are going on when spring comes and all this salt is out of here

Ok don't get too mad for the gasser pic, it was my first Ram.

These are Bushwacker OE style flares that came black but I had painted to match. I like the clean lines of the new body style so may not add them to my CTD. Instead I am focusing on keeping any rim/tire combo under the fenders for protection while using the DC mud flaps.

Thanks for the replies. I personally like the Xenons because they blend in nicely with the sport package, which I also have. Awesome truck CIverson!! Its amazing what BFG's will do for the appearance of a truck.

FPoitra, research how the different makes of flares are attached as well. Some need drilling and some don't. Some use adhesives. Some have a beaded insert that goes between the flare and the fender. I went through all this research back when I had my 95. Decided on the X-Tend-A-Flares, but the truck got wrecked first.

sRadke,

Corse not, you just beat me to it.

FPoitra,

There are different styles within some of the brands. The Bushwackers that I have are the extend-a-flair. More coverage than the Xenon and the Warn, but more $. It depends on the tire/wheel size you want to run as to the coverage you need. When I was looking the Warn's were the least $ and I'm not sure 'bout the Xenon/Bushwackers.

Ah, found it. Xenon = 370. Warn = 280. B. W. = 420.

All approx

Hope this helps,

JRG

Thanks for the compliment above.

The xenons are 315 at summit racing.

They attatch using screws in the fender lip and 3m tape against the body.

The 3m tape is nice as I had bushwackers on my previous truck and the rubber moulding rubbed right through the paint over time.

The only downside is that it's a PITA if you need to remove the flare, or the wheel well liner for any reason.

The flares also stick out about 2. 5" from the body line (measure 3" wide from the inside edge of the stock metal fender lip. )
