Brand loyalty/dishonesty among diesel owners?

Thought I'd pass these along, if you scroll down some you can see some cut-away pics of the new Power Stroke Engine going into the Fords.

I think if you put together all the rods in that engine that would not equal the size of one b series rod, and look how small that crank shaft looks, i think the b series crank weighs like 150#'s that is like the weight of a person LOL. not to mention all the rest of the crap on top of the engine.

Its still a Ford, i dont care if they put a jet engine in there truck, i am not impressed and will never drive one.

Cute - Really cute little "Girlie Engine"

I have a diehard PS guy at work and he still doesn't want to believe that Ford is building a Little Diesel. Love the comments about the maint and oil... ... .

at least it looks like ford/navistar will be using a normal turbocharger, not one that is built to run anti-clockwise like the current psd/t444e uses. .

Nick, there are alot of turbos that are setup the same way Powerstroke turbo is. Lots.

The new 6. 0 engine is using a variable geometry turbo that is controlled by the computer. It's a very sweet setup.

which, for running clockwise, or anti clockwise? the turbo on dodge runs clockwise, as does the one on my tahoe. . as do most aftermarket turbo's and other vehicles with turbos. . i can't think of another turbo vehicle that uses/used a turbo that runs anti-clockwise like the t444e/psd engine. . can you post some examples of anti clockwise running turbo's. . i just want to know to have the info stored in my head for future BS sessions with friends. . :)

Having true 4 doors and a new modern diesel with a 5 sp auto, it will be hard not to take the Ford seriously. I will definitely be looking at the Ford when it’s time to trade in my 97 2500. I came very close to buying the Ford 350 last year but purchased a Dodge 3500. It was a hard decision, but the engine choice was the deciding factor, the Powerstroke just doesn’t come close to the Cummins.
