WyoJim, mighty nice Elk ya got there. My dad and I spent 5 weeks in Grand Teton park last year freezing to death, and didn't see a darn Elk all month. Summer fires had chaced them out of the state by then.



But Godzilla got broken in properly. I had him only 2 weeks when we left for Wyoming. As a matter of fact, my avatar picture was taken at my parents house near Barstow the morning we left for Wyoming on that trip.

Tom... We packed into the Lee Metcalf Wilderness for nine years with our own horses. Even hunting this way is fiest or famine. You had a famine hunt. It eventually happens to every one.



We still have the horses and equipment, but it is too dam much work after the challenge is gone. Most of the old timers won't shoot one now unless they can back their truck up to it. My son called in a Bobcat the last week of elk season and he said he ran into about a dozen that were down from the mountain. Maybe I will hunt them that way next Year, out Of my pickup truck.
