Great job. Very well explained with pictures and instructions.

I have to clean my TPS it seems like every 6 month or so. I even keep a spare in my truck.

Thanks Diesel World! I always plan to take pics of projects, but usually end up so covered in grease and dirt that I don't want to touch my camera!

Great! I hope that many DIY'ers will be able to crush the evil TPS problem.

Now if I could just come up with a "reliable" device that would take the place of the TPS and be easy to adjust. :--)

Let me know what other pictorials you guys need and I will see if I can get it together.

A few years back my TPS started acting up ,strangly not long after i steam cleand the whole engine and transmission. . I took the TPS off and opened it by using a dremel tool to cut the glued joint out with a very small router looking bit . It was dirty inside and i cleaned it and put it back together using silicone rubber to glue it back and it has been working fine for a few years now . Arnie

Fantastic!

Two years ago, I did the Shedrin fix and bypassed the TPS. That worked fine until last fall when I had a piece of steel fall off of a semi at 75mph and go right thru my radiator and took out the TPS. Two court dates later, the company of the truck driver agreed to pay for all damages. As luck would have it, the so called "new" TPS turned up to be a new "used" unit and it had the same old problems. An interesting note was during the repair process on my truck, the garage that did the repairs removed the bypass and repaired it back to stock. So, after finding out that the new used TPS was malfunctioning, I faught with it time in and time out. That was until I saw this thread. Took me all of about 30 minutes to do the repair using the pictures and now I have no more problem.

Thank you very much for saving me the monies.
