I don't like the way they shrunk the pictures on the new site. Now they're blurry.

I found the story very intresting. Looking at the big picture does it realy matter if she is lying or not? The point is a tragedy happened, a government tried to sweep it under the rug cuasing hundereds of thousands of people to die needlessly. That's what compelled me.



I also found the part about the trees glowing red very intriguing. Thanks for pointing out the site I was moved non the less.

Now I think Elena's Story is true..

Note the Tour rules:



Chernobyl tour - visit the site of the worst environmental disaster in history.





1) The tour participant is provided with special clothes and footwear, and respiration masks.



Elena has no protective clothing or PPE.



2) On entering and leaving the 30-kilometers zone, the participant undergoes a radioactivity testing and is given an official computer-generated printout.



3) For the time of the tour, the participants is given an individual radiation dosimeter; personal dosimeters are also allowed.



She has her own Geiger counter.



4) According to the Ukrainian law taking pictures and shooting video during the tour are not permitted.



Did she snap the pics behind the tour guide's back?



EDIT: It looks like there might be more than 1 tour you can take. The one I posted looks like the stricter one.

She faked it......

An article published in the LA Times (requires registration) finds that the tale of the fearless 'Elena,' who claimed to ride through the desolate and radioactive zone of Chernobyl alone on her motorcycle (as depicted on her website kiddofspeed.com) is actually a fictionalized account. 'Elena' has been identified as a woman who took a tour organized by a Kiev travel agency, and her party traveled by car, "as closed motor vehicles are the rule in the zone," the article informed.
