The Sub Covers or valve gear for each Cylinder they weigh 396lbs each

the indv. heads each weigh 1278 lbs Sorry no pictures right now

Nice Chris. What did the motor come out of? The college I went to had a piston out of a tugboat that was about 20-24" in diameter. What's the bore on that thing?

the power plant looks very similar to the GE engines i work on at work, just my engines are smaller in scale. 10" pistons and about a 10" stroke piston and master rod about 150lbs, piston and art. rod about 80lbs i guess... the top of our power assemblies look similar in shape too [again, just smaller]... . interesting way the split on the conrod is in the 1st picture set... on my ge's, it's a cap bolted to the bottom, on the emd's, it's to half baskets clamping the fork rod which captures the blade rod against the top bearing shell

Nick, you have a great job

it's not bad... not great either. i'm a HD apprentice by trade but i see no hydraulics or electrical in my workplace. just engine work [and other misc things on locomotives]
