Off Roading 315's Rubbing what about this for a fix?

Per request, I posted a photo on our web, on the tech page, www.cumminsracing.com and here. .

If you are running a Holset HP on a twin setup, watch for the snap ring twisting and popping out. First symptom, shotgun blast, followed by loss of boost. The compressor housing shoots forward, and then when it bounces back, hits the compressor wheel, it ruins it.

If it saves one person from "chinging" a turbo, I have done my civic duty.

When you go to do this, you don't even need to split the turbo all apart. Just take the entire center cartridge out, leaving the exhaust housing on the truck. Just pull the 4 13mm bolts, and slide it out. Place the turbo intake side down, drill it and tap it, blow out the chips, put in the screws and go again. Where you are drilling, there is no potential for damage. The back plate is cast, and it makes powder debris, not chips.
