Made a visit...again

Went to the dealer this morning. Brought pictures provided by gitchesum and illflem. Showed them to the service manager. He agreed that the repair needed to be more than the original setup. They're paying, but I'm still concerned.



Looked at the truck. It's still apart as it was over a week ago. Thanx for all your help. You folks certainly put me in the right direction.

I just put the new case with a new pin in mine yesterday. Now what by Illflem says, that the pin helps hold the case from moving. After I put the new 98. 5 case on, which has the necked hole so the pin can't come out. It is not tight around the pin. My pin will work out again I have no doubt. The hole in the block is just too loose. It just won't fall into the gear train again.

Timing kit

Snap-on has the COMPLETE timing kit in their "Blue Point" line for $142. 50. The Item # is "SP500, Timing Set, Diesel" The kit has a puller, DV socket, dial indicator, and the indicator adaptor.
