Hey all,

Well, I got my FP gauge in today, and borrowed my roommates digital camera to take some pics of all my gauges and their insalls on the engines and lines. Hope you all appreciate some of these.

Josh.

well...

The plate for the Cubby hole came from Eric Buckel, out of the classified ads on here. If you go to "Product Promotions" then "Member Enterprises" you'll see his winter gaurds for the grill, as well as the plate for the cubby hole. It's made from good strong plastic, and fits and looks good. Only $5, so you can't really go wrong.

snowracer,

Looks good!

In the classifieds I have the ad for it. I have a drill bit now to make the hole if you want. For an additional fee ($1)

Thanks for sharing snowracer

Eric

.

I'd take ya up on the drill bit offer now... . I had to go out and spend about $6 on a 2" hole saw and the mandrel for it. But, it looks really good, and is tight as hell... . that thing ain't going anywhere!

Ted,

It's a mechanical boost gauge that I hooked up post filter. I have an 1/8" needle valve right at the outlet from the filter, so I can stop the flow should something happen, which I don't see occuring any time soon.

It's been tried and tested by many other people on here, and was a $100 cheaper option than buying an electrical Z-series FP gauge.

Snowracer - are you getting any turbo boost guage rattling noises ?

I installed my boost tap the same place as you and have not been able to get rid of the rattle, although I have yet to try a snubber as last ditch effort.

.

Damon,

No boost gauge rattle at all. The only noise I have from any of my gauges is a high-pitched ringing at initial startup. I'm not sure what it is, and can only hear it till my stereo powers up and starts making noise. I think it's either my pyrometer or Trans temp gauges sending the signal down to the sensors, but am not sure. I'd show ya'll pictures of the rest of my truck, but I'm not too proud of the tires or the right (passengers) side... three pretty good dents on that side from different things.

Oh, what's the best way to take "brush scratches" out? Like, when the truck is dusty, and you drive through miles and miles of sagebrush, and you get those light markings in the clear coat that makes it look kindy crappy... yeah, I've got tons of them. Just use regular rubbing compound, or something a little harsher?

Josh.

Is your boost line run straight to the guage, or any valves or snubbers etc between ?

In regards to the sage scratches in the clear coat, I hate to tell ya but you may never get those completely out. I got lost in the Sierras a few years back (pre GPS) and around 1 AM I made my own trail out in my old Ford. I tried a few good compounds with a buffer and even a professional detailer could not make the clear coat scratches go away..... sorry:(

.

Damon,

Both my boost line and my FP line are run straight from where they're hooked up to the back of the gauge. My boost line doesn't even have any protective hosing around it, but my FP line does.

Sucks to hear about my scratches. :(

Josh

As far as the scratches in the clear coat, I take my truck to a guy at Auto waxing systems in Beaverton. In the 4 years that I have taken in to him after elk hunting, he gets ALL of the scratches out and makes the truck look new again:D
