If you do a member search here for Oasis-3(Cliff-aka Dr Stackmeister) you will find a link to his webpage which has pictures of his 01. 5 Sport. On that page if you click on the stack list page he has posted all the part numbers and some simple instructions for doing a set at home yourself. Cliff's installation is one of the cleanest and well thought out sets of stacks I have seen. He has all the joints done the correct way keeping in mind exhaust flows and turbulence. If you have any questions on his he will answer you if you PM or email him, just give him some time as he is a owner operator and hauls cars for a living. He will get back to you if you drop him a note... ... ..... Andy

BTW... .

Mark,,

What gives man, you sold Erics old truck???.

One thing I don't like is the stacks that Y in the bed. I don't mind the steel tubing but I want all of the bed usable.

We went to great pains to bring the stacks on my old truck up in the corners to make them where they didn't shorten the bed by 8-10".

they were also 4" stacks inside 5" to keep them from burning stuff and people (I have kids. . they don't realize that shiny stuff is hot). they got warm but not hot. I wish they had those caps because I took a shoot shower once or twice.

As far as noise goes there was a 5" muffler in the system so they were quiet and had no drone.

FWIW,

Mark

I like the look of the miter cut stacks but I'm imagining the soot showers after rain or a car wash would make them a bit of a pain, anyone have issues with this? I would like something that comes up about even with the top of the cab, not more than an inch or two higher than the cab.

Rain hasn't been much of a problem for me having the miter tops. As long as you don't spray water down into them at the wash, you won't have an issue.

bmoeller, what make of aluminum flatbed do you have on your truck??

I'm afraid I don't know. There isn't a name on it anywhere, that I have found. Bought it used at a huge consignment auction last spring.

Stacks

RJ

I have some pix's and a parts list in my sig.

(look on page 2)

I do have a Y-pipe in my bed but I have a cover on the bed so you can not see the pipes in the bed.

Good Luck

Cliff

Hmmm...

Speaking of Dr. Stackmeister there he is,LOL. Good to see your still hanging around Cliff..... Andy

I like that, I was thinking of something like that for mine. I'm not worried about the y-pipe in the bed, I will be custom making a truck box to hide all that eventually. Its not a show truck anyways. I was looking for some stacks similar to yours Cliff. Maybe 6", I am thinking that will be proportionate to the truck being a dually. The only think is that I don't want for them to come up more than an inch over the cab. Not worried about seeing them from the sides or anything I just don't want them way up in the air all alone. I like your setup, any more pics available.

Thanks all for your help, and keep them coming.

There is a new rain cap for slash-cuts from dynaflex that clamps to the inside of the pipe and puts a chrome cover over the slash when the engine is off. . it's very  and makes all stacks soot shower free without special engineering.

The inside is cushioned to stop the 'tap' when they close.

Do you have a link for them, I searched with Google and couldn't find them.

Thanks,

Mark,

you ever seen 'em in action? saw a CLEAN 379 Pete hummin' up 35 w/ them on it, and it kinda killed the whole look of the truck :(

I'm sure they look fine parked, but I've seen them on a couple more trucks since that first time, and they all looked just as goofy

alright, they're not THAAAT bad, but they're not that great either :D

just keep 'em clean!!

I'm surprised to hear you've got a soot shower problem... my miters barely speckled my white truck.

one small little pin hole to drain is all I had...

heh, I'll be re-stacked again next week... got a pair of curved tops that have been sitting in the garage taunting me. using a box crossover this time. I'll have roughly $200 in the whole setup. I'll yank 'em off and sell 'em in a month or two. Not on the highway all the time anymore, and want to show off at the local GTG's now that the weather is nice :p
