Competition Dynojet question

Competition Need advise

Andrew,

Yea, That's the Justin you know. He's the one that went to the Kervville 2001, Thunder in Muncie, the DFW Dyno Day, and the Clash of the Titans.

Thanks for the replies guys :D

Matt,, that's actually Mobil 1 50W Synthetic oil on the floor,, I didn't feel like snapping an input shaft, differential, u-joint, or slipping the clutch so I put some oil on the ground.

That's a 4th gear bunout, and the donuts were in 3rd gear. I have video of the burnout, but it isn't on the PC. :(

So, I'm assuming you layed down some Mobil 1 Synthetic all across the path you took during the doughnuts? Wouldn't want to stress out the drivetrain or anything... .

As far as this type of abuse goes... . once you make it past the initial shockload of dumping the clutch... . you'll be okay. If you don't make it past the clutch dump... . then you've found your Weakest Link .

Goodbye...

Matt

I can do 3rd gear lauinches without breaking stuff,, the problem comes when I try to stand on the brakes to get the truck to stop. I have a Full EGR Brake upgrade kit, so the rear brakes can really bite,, this makes a "brakestand burnout" very difficult.

If I try to do 3rd gear, I rev it to redline pop the clutch, then hit the brakes, but I don't have enough ponies to overcome the four rear tires and the rear brakes (not enough turbo spool up time)

Once I can get the tires spinning, and the turbo spooled I can get on the brakes hard enough to get the truck to stop rolling.

I can demonstrate this for you on a wet road. I drive in 3rd gear at 2,600 RPM and go WOT and ride the brakes to keep from picking up speed, once the turbo spools up, the rear tires break traction, and I can honker down on the brakes and drive around, stop, or just let off the brakes and slide around while I slowly pick up speed.

The Oil helped the tires with the initial start, then it helped slow the forward movement of the truck so I could get on the brakes without picking up much speed. By the time I got on the brakes I'm pretty sure the oil wasn't around to help me out anymore :D

{EDIT} I hope this doesn't sound concieted, my friends tell me that sometimes when I talk I talk alot about myself and I sound concieted, I hope I didn't come across this way, Didn't mean too.
