Pierce Winch

Looking to Buy a Winch this Summer.

Looks like I can get a Pierce 15,000 lb. pull Hydraulic for less than $1200. 00

I haven't heard of Pierce and was looking for good or bad with Pierce.

Don't need to hear about the Differance between Hydraulic or Electric.

Thanks for your Time and Help. ;)

Pierce makes a very good winch. They are frequently used on wreckers and roll backs. I bought a 12,500lb Pierce and put in on an old International - I impressed a lot of people with that winch. One time I sank the truck in the gooiest mud hole I have ever seen - the winch slowly pulled the truck right through - like a bulldozer pushing mud. It was very impressive! Again, as you probably know, it is not a fast winch, but very strong and durable.

Hope this helps!

Chris,

Thanks.

It seems like Hydraulic is the way to go for me.

Between now and this Summer i need to come up with a way to use this this wench on Front,Rear or in the Bed.

I had a 9000lb electric pierce winch on my trailer. It didn't last very long, and had to replace it with a 13,500lb Ramsey winch. I not sure how well thier Hydraulic winches are. Hydraulic is definitely the way to go. They are alot harder to burn up.

M Murray,

Thanks for your time.

It seems to be the Electric are faster for short hauls but from what I've been finding as I read between the lines that for a lot of continous work the Hydraulic in the way to go.

Pierce wasn't as much a problem as being Electric?
