I forgot to give you the power gains and mileage.

After Scheid did the initial pump calibration I dynoed

on their Mustang Dynamometer. The only engine mods

I had then besides the pump calibration was a #6 TST

plate. I dynoed at: 224 H. P. /625 Torque.

After I installed the 370's, had more pump mods done

(i. e. : increase the fuel flow, AFC spring kit, governor

spring kit) and installed a new TC and valve body I

dynoed at: 381 H. P. /1069 Torque. My mileage went

down about 1 MPG in easy driving, not towing my

trailers. From about 18 to 17-17. 5. I have never

gotten the 19-20 or so some of the other members

report getting with their 12 valves, not even when

it was new with no mods.

Had Scheid rework my pump and put a plate in at about 290k. I was very impressed with their facility and the work done. Pump was pulled, specced 20% over and they put a plate in(HP?) according to my hauling needs. From what I understand they have been working Bosch and other pumps for the farm industry for quite a while. I have not dynoed my truck before or after but fuel mileage did go up . 5 to 1. 5 depending on load. After adding a better clutch assembly I am very pleased. I'm just a working stiff trying to make a living with my truck and figured getting the pump set up to it's "best" was good for business. No more running out of go trying to top those hills in 5th loaded.

I to have the Piers 370's and the two spring kits on the way and can't wait to see how much they help. :D :D :D

This is some good info on the pump. I am considering having this done to mine. Does anyone know how much hp the 180 hp pump can push with some dd3s, 191 delivery valves, and the pump maxed out with these "adjustments"?

pump work

Getting a little off this threads topic, does anyone in the Kansas City area know of a pump shop that will do the type of pump work described above?

I've talked to several shops here and none of them tend to or want to do performance mods.

Any info would be appreciated--

Cummins Mid-America

I was at a open house a couple of years back at Cummins Mid- America, they had several vendors there. Might ask one of the people there.

GOODE11:

I checked my "Bosch" directory on "certified pump shops

authorized to test and repair diesel pumps. The only one

listed is as follows:

K. C. Diesel

820 1NE Parvin Rd.

Phone#s: (816) 414-8300

Hope this has helped!

Thanks for the info. guys

I wasn't really impressed w/ Cummins MidAm. Especially K. C. Diesel (same building). When I turned up the fuel on my '92 they said it would burn the pump up pretty fast (still on the same pump 120,000mi later) and that timing was set at factory specs for a reason!

I don't have much experience w/ their service dept. but w/ the fuel shop not willing, I really don't want to spend my cash there.

Thanks again guys--
