How are things going for Piers? Just read that wildcat diesel closed doors, someone wondered if the snafu over Iraq and Canadian gov. not backing the U. S. resulted in loss of American orders. Also was mentioned the ebay effect on diesel sales. Just hope Piers & co. are doing OK, would like to order some stuff from him when the money is right.

Thanks

Paychk

PS Piers seems to be the only place left for us, that have age refined trucks

I am sorry to here Wildcat is going under. They were good to deal with! :{ Ebay is tough competion it they go your items, but wildcat had good packages.

:D

A sorry day for both the USA and Canada.

Good Luck for your future ventures.

bd-diesel closed

BD diesel closed in Calgary Alberta Canada in Nov this year, too bad---- i bought alot of there products in the last few years ,but they are still open in British Columbia Canada as far as i know... . DW

PDR is still doing what it does best... . putting together products and services for almost every owner out there Paychk.

You sweet talker you ... ;)

I think the dollar value fluctuations has slowed things a bit to be honest... . and to some degree, the world in general and North America in particular is sidetracked at this point in time as well.

On the other hand, it doesn't mean we can't still get our hands dirty and have some fun... . poor ole Piers... he see's me coming and just know's I'm gonna bug him about something or other for us "mature truck" owners... . :-laf :-laf... .

I think its the service that is keeping the good companies open. Piers has been great everytime I've called up there. Whether I bought anything or not, they were helpful.

I've only had one experience with Wildcat. I liked their products but didn't like the service. It was enough for me to decide not to buy anything there at any price.

Speaking of Piers, their website says they have POD's and 190's on sale for 369 and 360 respectively. That sounds like a good price. Now, which ones do I get?

BJ

Gitcha them POD's. If you wish to make big smoke and power you have 'em. If you wish to tune the pump to limit the fuel, you can. Very versitile.

Keep your other set for experiments.

Got 'em in

Thanks to Scott and Piers for recommending the PODs. What a difference

Boost is at 35-37. EGT's are higher, but controllable.

I backed off on the smoke screw, and raised the starwheel almost to the top. That cleaned up most of the smoke at low boost. It still smokes at low boost, but no worse than it did before. Before the adjustments, it was just obnoxious. It used to clean up completely after it got to about 15psi, but now I am leaving a nice haze all the way up to 35. Little to no smoke at idle. Full fuel is only a 1/4 turn from the stock position.

I was amazed at how much smoother the truck idled and ran. If you have a truck with 300k on it and the injectors have never been out, at least pull them and have them cleaned and reset if you don't want to replace them. JMHO

I guess by wrong you mean lifting my right foot off the go pedal when the egt's get to 1300? :-laf :-laf

My Grandfather told me to just hold it on the floor 'til the smoke cleared up. Maybe I'll try that approach. :D

I for one have every intention of continuing to support PDR and refuse to make this a political issue. In my dealings with Piers and his staff they have taken very good care of my and my trucks needs. My plans for 2005 include Piers - providing that the money is available on my end. Keep up the good work guys - hope to see you later in the spring and at Dyno Mania 2005.

Not sure about the other Gens, but I don't think those here in the 1st Gen forum view PDR as just another vendor, I think we value the support he provides us. Just hope the money flows more freely during 2005, so I can reciprocate back on that support. Oo. :)
