Piers,
Can you tell me what the kit does to my power band. I ran the truck across the dyno, but the power isn't at the same RPMs as before? However, when leaving a stop sign and the tires start squealing, it's apparent that I have more power now. I've got a 95 with auto transmission and 3. 54 back end.
Thanx

You should have a longer/wider power band. A lot depends on what cam plate you are running. The #4 works the best with the spring kit. Did you install six new springs or four? the reason I ask this is because i found out that some kits where shipped out with only 4 new springs instead of 6 new ones seems there was a screw up in the shipping dept.

Piers,
They probaly had their minds on fishing!

I only got 4 springs that go in the govener.
Are we talking about that or valve springs?
Not sure why buy I'm haveing trouble getting more than 2900-3000rpms?

Badly in need of a clutch:)

Piers,I was told by the salesman on he phone when I ordered that the kit came with 60# intake and exhaust and the gov springs is this right or wrong,Iwas also told that it was back ordered waiting on vendor please advise,I thought with all valve springs the kit wasn't a bad price at $250 if not it's seems awfully high and may want to rethink the purchase. Tim

I also received a kit with only 4 springs. I haven't installed it yet and I guess it is a good thing. Are the salesmen aware of the problem so we can call and get the other two springs? How do we know which two are missing, diameters? I have two that are about 1" in diameter and two that are 0. 7" in diameter.

Brian

I also have a kit with only 4 springs sitting on my workbench. I bought it at the Tulare meet. I am sure that BD will fix us up with a complete set. Everybody affiliated with that company is top notch as far as I am concerned. I am glad that I did not install the partial kit.

Piers,Please give us a reply here,I ordered from BD becuse I knew you wouldn't lead us down the money vs hp drain,if it cost another $70 I think I'll call today and cancel, this is way over priced even with the group price maybe WWCD2 can help clear this up,heck the propane is more bomb for the buck. HELP PLEASE

Somethings gone wrong #ad
, this was brought up at a meeting tonight. As I understand it $250. 00 is for 6 gov. springs, 2 spring seats, 1 tamper #ad
proof screw & 6 HD intake valve springs. "If" you need the other 6 HD valve springs for your exhaust valves, they are another $60. 00.
If you are not planning on running your engine past 3200 rpm, you don't need any of the HD valve springs. The guys with the 96-98. 5 man. trans trucks that don't want more than 3500-3600 rpm, can leave out the little springs, in the 94-98. 5 auto trans trucks, leaving out the little springs will allow 3000-3100 rpm, installing them, depending on cam plate & fueling levels will allow 3600-3800 rpm. Remember, you don't have to use the higher rpm's, but can set up for them & have full fueling in the lower rpm band. Clear as mud #ad
Please reread, as I have been informed I was wrong on those prices, the correct price is now posted.

Hi Piers,
My set came with 2 spring seats and 4 springs but I want to turn up to around 3800 so I also bought the 12 valve springs. I didn't get the package deal that some people are talking about. The truck has a 180 pump so from what I understand, I will need the other 2 gov. springs and the correct seats to make this work on my truck.

Piers, thanks for a reply I new I could count on you I cancled today until everything was speciefied so I will call you tomorrow as you were out today. One more question do you also need the 60# springs for the intake valves? Thanks for makeing everything as clear as mud. Tim

Folks, I have been running without the center springs (smallest) on my truck with excellent results. The rpm is right at 3600 as Piers has stated. I only have the 60# springs on the exhaust side (from an earlier BD exhaust brake install) and will be installing the intake side springs as soon as time allows. This kit does make the truck much more streetable. #ad
