Piers New Twin Turbo System

Well I got the privilege of installing a set of Piers' new twin turbo system and all I can say is WOW! I have no idea how much it actually reduced my egt's because my pyro only reads to 1600* and I could hit that before in the blink of an eye (even in valet mode). Also in valet mode I have yet to see over 1400* and that took a long time (read high speed run) for it to get to this temp. I haven't tried full fuel yet



The bottom end lag is almost nonexistent, which makes throttle response feel instantaneous. Now as for boost #'s I can easily hit 65 psi in valet mode and who knows what they are capable of with full fuel... . But I will be setting the wastegate to limit max boost to a safe level.



Thats it for now as I have to go out and try and find a few ricers to play with

What does a guy have to do to be a tester for the all the cool stuff??



Spend your own money and prove yourself then you get noticed, there are more than a few folks that have done this so what we do is prove ourselves using that companies products.



Some people expect a company to furnish them with parts, others like me just want a fair deal and info.

I don't expect squat form any company. That comment was mostly in jest. I am sure there is a lot a cool stuff that is R & D ed before any one says anything on the TDR by the guys with the biggest and baddest trucks that can torture the part in question to prove out the quality of product. This is always best done by some one else in my opinion, I only benefit from someone's adventure's in broken parts. Thanks!!

You and I both know that tuning these p-pumped 24v trucks takes a lot. Heck I have to learn how to set timing and play with the pump... ... No longer can I just plug in a box, throw in some injectors, and tune the N02. Anyone who thinks you just throw on a p-pump on a 24v truck and make big power is sorely mistaken. But, I am betting by the end of the season I will be starting to realize the gains from this setup.

I need to add a little info here on this setup..... To give everyone an idea on the quality of this system the turbos are put together by PDR and the plumbing is being designed and manufactured by Northwest Custom. There has been a lot of input by the guys developing, manufacturing and testing this product. All`parties involved want to be sure everything is just right prior to its launch. Currently the twins are still in the development/testing stage, but hopefully they will be for sale soon.

I was talking to mark at Piers last week on a set of twins around 3,000 for the set. 5" change over on the exhaust. The kicker was that piers wanted to start with a HX-35, which I just sold to get the HX-40. I was told that I could use my HX-40 but I also needed to go to a HT3B- for another 400. 00 or the H2E for 600. 00 to go with the setup. Lets just say I got some to think about. As far as the sale I believe I could get them now. OverFueled

I think most people are running their twins on the street. Mine are basically the same as Doug's (Jetpilot) as we used my truck to build his. On the street with the original injectors I had in the truck (DD2's) my cruising temps are about 50-75* warmer than they were with the 40 as a single. When I put a set of DonM's Mach 5's in my cruising temps are the same and it is hard to break 1300*. I could see 66-68psi on the street. My head and block have both been o-ringed with a copper gasket and head studs. I know Doug's truck has o-rings in the block with a . 020 oversized marine gasket and head studs. His twins also have blowoff valves to keep boost below about 65psi.

Twins are a great set up for the street,There's no lag,you probably improve fuel efficiency,cool down the EGT's the only down side is if you are running a stock head gasket,and it has some age on it keep the boost down,less than 45psi to be safe. Merv

I have to agree with Doug here, rode with him and are trucks are some what similar, Pumps, injectors are close, gears and tires are the same, his converter is tighter and he weights a little more than me, his Twins are way more drivable than mine, watched rpms, boost and egt's at light throttle for a comparison, seems that my stock 35 takes too long to get to 8-10 psi but is fine after that, definite improvement over my setup!
