I would sure like to know what stance Piers is taking on the dowel pin issue. I have put off this fix till I am confident that I am going in the right direction. Southeast diesel tells me not to worry about it, a few engines out of tens of thousands,and add the internet , you can get blown way out of proportion . Hopefully TDR magazine will also give us some direction in this upcoming issue.

I too have been hesitant in jumping on it. I have been told by quite a few as well that odds are definitely in our favor that it would never cause a problem. Course then there's my like. It's kind of like that feeling you have when you're watching the Lotto numbers come up on the TV- you just think "Maybe... ... ... ... ":rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Kev;)

I believe Piers has had one come loose on an engine in the truck he used to drive. It is a serious problem that affects a minimal number of engines. But things to remember are: If your engine is seriously B. O. M. B. ed, the excessive vibration caused by the extra revs and extra power could wake the sleeping giant. I have diffused mine with the CPFF fix and find I sleep much better knowing that the giant is in its cage.

RJ2;

We did the CPFF KDP fix on 5 or 6 trucks as a get together a few months ago. All had a great time shooting the breeze, etc. It appeared that on none of the trucks had the pin moved out, but now I for one sleep at night knowing that my number will not come up and the KDP has been put to rest. :D :D

Do you have insurance on your truck?? I am sure you do. Just think of this as added insurance at little cost.
