The handle is all I use to get into my truck. After 11 months I have not noticed any problems and I am a big guy, I will watch out and fix if needed before the bumper to bumper is over. I love the handles I always slip if I step on a wet or frozen running board, I would rather swing in like a monkey. With GM's you are still forced to use the steering wheel no handle.

Yah, watch it close 'cause it'll take some months before it pulls loose. An aside: interesting that you mentioned swinging in like a monkey because that's the way my wife put it too. She told me not long after I bought the truck that she felt like a tree monkey crawling up into it.

Fixing plastic Parts

:D If you have ever broken a plastic part it can befrustrating to have to buy a new one just to have the same thing happen again. Here is a good solution that has worked on many plastic parts new and old. On a new part to reinforce it take some baking soda and some thin super glue, make a bead of baking soda around the part to be reinforced add the super glue in small amounts being carefull not to inhail the smoke from the prcess as it is toxic. This fix will not break in that spot. To make a repair of broken parts use a small clamp or clothes pin to hold parts toghether. Make a bead of baking soda and add glue. With this method you can drill and even tap threads into it and it will never break in the same spot that you fix. Enjoy:cool:

my handle isn't a problem

Mine is about to get hacked off for the gauge pod, I'll just have to tell the wife to be careful!

So what breaks exactly? The bolt head gets pulled thru the plastic? Insert (nut) pulled out of A pillar?

I had my passenger side handle off of the A pillar last week for my antenna (roof mount Wilson 1000) install. The top bolt in mine seemed kind of snug all the way out and I realized it had stripped. I bought a 6mm tap and chased the threads in the insert and got a new machine screw.

It would suck to have that break off when you really need it. I don't use the one on the driver's side, but my wife (and other passengers) use the other one a good bit.

A pillar pod

Joe Donnelly,When you were in the process of considering putting in a 3 gauge pod, did you look at a few different brands before purchasing the one you have?

I want to get a 3 gauge A pillar pod for my 2004 also. However, I would like to know ( from some of you guys that have the experience) which pods fit the best, match the color the best, and, which are the least intrusive as far the view of surrounding area is concerned.

Also, I was wondering which brand of gauges match the gauges in our dashes. Not that that aspect is so important, but I thought it might be nice.

TIA for any help you may offer:)

I have warned my wife that the handle is not a piece of exercise equipment:rolleyes: . She thought she was on a Jungle Gym. That handle is good for balance and that is about all. I never used the thing myself and can't now because I have the gauges mounted on the A-pillar, but I can sure see how someone could be seriously injured if the handle gave way. Not a whole lot holding it on.

Geno's matches the factory color for the pod and Di-Pricol comes pretty darn close to the factory gauges on the '03's. I love mine :D
