Cosidering pillar mount but wanted advice on if this puts the gauges in your face or not. ALso looked in archive for other mounting spots on a 98 but could not find anything> Do not want them mounted on top of dash but was considering under ashtray mounted in front of 4x4 handle Have 2 gauges and any advice on mounting is helpful. Also on pillar mount can you now get a cutout for tweeter ?? Thanks

I got mine on the pillar above the tweeder. (2) Yes they are kind of in your face, but at least I dont have to really search for them, or take my eyes off the road to see them. Did your holder come black? I used "model master custom spray enamel #fs 36076 panzer gray" Almost identical to the gray interior. The can also says "1950 panzer gray" on the top, so I dont know which to go by. ??

Dodge dealer can match the interior paint up for you. Comes in one of those small spray cans. I don't remember what numbers they need if any off the truck.

Patriot I didnt order pillar mount yet but I am kind of leaning against mounting them there. Does EGT increase so fast that you have to constantly monitor it or will an occasional glance be okay(not doing any towing but installing torque plate) On boost gauge I guess I should monitor this one more closely. If anyone has a picture of pillar mounted gauges installed please post(for a 98 please)

I had mine mounted on the lower section of the dash and moved them up to the A-pillar. At first they seem like they are "in your face" but after you get used to it they are much easier to monitor there. YES the EGT can climb rather fast on a hard pull.

I have three gauges in a triple pillar mount and two gauges right next to them on the top of the dash and now the tranfer flow gauge next to them. They do not block my sight unless I'm trying to see my front fender #ad

My truck is totally stock. I don't think I've ever saw the temp @ 700 and 24 psi boost is it. Guess it'll depend on which plate you have.
I got my setup from diesel injection service in Texas. They had a good price, and theyre a TDR advertiser.
Lighting leaves much to be desired, but otherwise I'm happy.

RedNut,
The pilar mount is definitely the way to go. I have my TST gauges on the pilar and they don't bother me one bit. The only problem that you might have is if your like me and you like to smoke those big 7 1/2+" cigars #ad
, then watch out when holding them in your left hand and turning the steering wheel, you might get your ash on the gauges #ad
.
They also definitely draw more attention from people when they see your truck.

Been there done that a few times!! Then you have to figure out whether you've caught the carpet on fire! I'm very careful when I'm smoking cigar's in my truck now. Other than that I like the a-pillar gauges too. You just have to lean a little to the side (which you have to do anyways with the size of the a-pillar) when turning sharp.

RedNut,

I just put the 3guage A pillar pod in my 98 with isspro guages. I don't think the A pillar guage pod it too much of an "in your face" application. In fact, unless you are trying to be cool #ad
slumping low and next to the drivers window, there won't be much of a difference in vision. I was initially set back by the A pillar's intrusion into the driver's "bubble" but I like my instramentation close at hand because it's kind of a major priority for me. I have only had the pillar in for a few days now and I have adjusted to it's presence in the cockpit area. This is an excellent invention and upgrade to your expensive truck. Guard it and monitor it! Don't put the guages in a place where they "won't be in the way" #ad
You will get used it very quickly. Now, if I could just buy a 'heads-up display' for the windshield... .
