Pine sap on my seat!!

Being the dumbarse that I am, I parked my truck under a big hemlock beside my road in the springtime with my windows down. Du-oh! The tree rained sap all over my truck and in my truck. Getting it off the windows and paint was no big deal, but how in the heck do I get it out of my cloth seat cover without screwing up the material? :{

Might try "Goof off" or even Brakleen (in an inconspicuious spot of course. ) Brakleen is similar to the stuff used for dry cleaning. Good luck.

there is a hand wiper product available at graingers... scrubs-in-a-bucket. Loctite has a similar product. Worth it's weight in gold. It takes roofing tar stains out of carpet, and it's safe. I never travel without 2 or 3 in the truck.

Don't use Goof-off, it could very well dissolve the seat or the foam underneath it. The best way to remove sap is to use mineral spirits, plain old paint thinner. It also dissolves most adhesives from stickers and such without damaging paint. Wet a rag with it and rub the sap, maybe letting it soak for a few seconds first if it is really thick. I've used it for years getting sap off of clothing. Just to be safe though you should test an area under or behind to verify it does not cause any problems.

It sounds funny but mayonaise works to disolve it I have had it stuck under my arms and all down my side from framing houses . Probably then you could use an upolstery soap to disolve that

Try Denatured Alcohol. Great to take pitch off of trailer awnings too.
