Has anyone had to replace a leaking pinnion seal? Especially on a Dana 80 axle. My truck "97" Ram CTD 4X2 3500 If you had this work done did you go to the Dealer or an independent shop? Also can you tell me what they charged. Mine is leaking pretty bad, since I do frequent towing I need to get this fixed. Any input would be appreciated... ... thanx :)

I just had mine replaced about a month ago. I would have done it myself but it started leaking while I was on my trip moving to a new area. When I got to my new town my tools were still packed and I wasn't settled in yet. I bought the part initially from the dealer as I was going to attempt it any way. I think it was around $36. 00 for the seal. I decided to price it out and the dealer ended up charging me $125. 00 to replace it and top off the fluid. For that, it wasn't worth my time with everything else I needed to do. Hope this helps... Andrew
