BIG! Its called a Hoedown:-laf. Ya only "get down" in Watts(ROTFALMAO)!

A Southern Drawl dont make a Hillbilly;)!

That one picture with you and your "catch" looked like you just dropped out of the history pages from an 1830's Rendezvous. 'Cept you're living it!

The last reenactment of a Rendezvous, I attended, was at Fort Bridger , Wyoming in 1978. There was some authentic reenactor's there, but nothing that really kept me going back. Some folks I knew, many years past, lived for those reenactments. GregH

Are hardwood or softwood pellets better for my pellet stove?

Many people believe that because hardwood was always burned in woodstoves and fireplaces that it must be better. This isn't the case with fuel pellets. A softwood pellet will produce more BTUs (10-20%) per pound than most hardwood species and create a lighter ash. This is due to the slightly higher level of resins in most softwoods. Whether hardwood or softwood; once pelletized, there is negligible difference in the benefits of one over the other. Your greatest concern should be to purchase the best quality wood pellet from an ash content perspective in your area.

Why we did not burn soft wood. It would pop and send hot sparks on the floor. That could burn the house down. So that is why soft wood was not used years ago.

This might help MIKE

.

I could see that would happen. The place that I buy the pellets has quite a set up that makes them he has a guarantee that they are a certain percentage of moisture I dont know how I would check unless I buy some kind of Meter. But the softwoods have more oils in them making them burn hotter I was looking around on the web and found that, it makes sense. The thing I like about our stoves is that we dont have to open a door to feed them and to clean the ash out it goes into a tray that slides out and you empty and put back. You can open the door to get it all but it doesnt build up much.
