I am wondering how many out there are interested in a pistol grip shifter for there truck? A person I know reproduces these shifter's for the 70-74 Dodge/Plymouth muscle cars. They are of very good quality and he said if I can find him a core so he could get the bend and mounting just right he would start making them.

If anyone has a core let me know, also if you are interested let me know and I will compile a list so when they are availible I'll let you know.

They are made out of Stainless steel and come with diff. grips wood or?

Thanks Keith

me too!!

Oh yea!!! Let me know, price is the only issue and as long as they are reasonable count me in.

One question, will it rotate like some of the OEM knobs do?? :D

the shift knob i'm picturing is more to go with white face guages but it would be the same size and format of the stock only white and have a red or blue cummins C on the top where the 1,2,3..... is now.

i think this knob would accent a white face guage plate and the auto-meter phantom guages i have. (considering if we can get the guage plates made or not)

Cool link Hemi! That would set the inside of my truck off soooooo nicely! :) He even has a top lens with the proper pattern for the 5600! I suspect when I find out what they're worth I will soil myself  but I will drop him a line and see if he's interested in branching out into the truck market and what he would charge... ... I'll keep ya posted!

ding ding ding!!!!

We have a winner! Looking at the opening post to this thread I bet this is the same fella that racebeeper68 was talking about. He needs an OEM shift handle to use for a pattern-so now I guess I gotta try and scrounge a 5600 handle. The price is not cheap-$350-but looking at the pics on his site I think it's worth it. So as soon as I can find me a shifter I'll get his details and start on with the project!

If you (or somebody else) want a 4500 one Bill he'll have to have one for around 6 weeks he said to make a pattern. I dunno if the 4500 and 5600s are the same... ... . time to rattle my brother the Chrysler parts manager again I suppose! :p I suspect I'll have to buy a new one to send down to him-hope they aren't horrifically priced... ... they look so cool though that I gotta have one!

Stock shift lever

When I converted my '98 NV4500 to a six speed using a 2001 or 2002 NV5600 from a donor truck, I compared the shifters and they are the same (part # was on the lever). I'm not using the NV4500 lever so it could be used for a pattern but $350. 00 is WELL beyond my means:eek: . For $350. 00 I would hope the shifter would have a clapped out transmission core attached :D :D. Larry

Good info Larry! I have to take a few measurements to make sure the Pistol Grip will fall in a nice shifting place... ... then I'll go from there. Maybe I'll drop you a line and rent your old lever from you for 6 weeks or so for a pattern... ...
