Lift pump on the 89 is going. I want to swap to the piston pump. Does anyone have the part #'s. I was told I need the pump fuel tube spacer and gaskets.

BGilbert did his and posted numbers in one of the stickies at the top. I did mine, cutting the stuff isn't a big deal. I just threw away the part #'s 2 days ago. It made a world of difference, was 5 at idle, 3 at cruise (70)

0 at WOT. Now, 15 at idle and cruise, 10 at WOT. :D

I see 5psi @ WOT w/my piston pump. The A/C brand (a P-Pump application) may be a better choice if you use a lot of fuel. Then again, how often do we drive around at WOT

My trucks don't have the insulation on the lifter cover. It's AWOL. I have installed a pump on a truck w/the insulation and had to cut it off/trim it with a Dremel and cut off tool.

I try to keep it above 5spi at WOT or any load. Book calls for 3psi. The VE wont hold much more than 17psi without some mods to the front seal. Or so I've been told.

carter pump

I dont have a fuel presure gauge, but the truck runs so much smoother. Starts faster and makes smoke. I have the pump turned up,fuel pin ground down ,3200 spring and smoke screw bottomed. It would defuel at higher rpm and make no smoke.

NOT ANY MORE!!!!

Thanks for all your help.
