Man, installed new shocks all the way around today (driveway). Rears went on as expected. Didn't realize you have to take half the front end apart to get to the shock towers!!!! Eventually left the battery tray in place on the drivers side, Too many electrical gizmos attached to the tray!!! Took the inner fender liner out, which meant the mudflaps come off! All of that for the 5 minutes it took to swap just one shock. What were they thinking???#@$%!

I guess my '06 is a lot different than your '07.5, I didn't remove anything. I unbolted the shock towers and pulled the shocks out. Put them back in reverse order, easy.

DITTO.... Hassled more by just a minute or two on the backs. The shock tower nut that is closest to the inner fender well I got from the tire side.

Nope, all 3rd and 4th gens are pretty much the same for shock changing, do it enough times and it goes pretty damn quick.

yeah dead simple for my 06 too. If you use a floor jack, its much easier to get the shock tower back onto the studs and get the nut started.

Hmmm. I played hell on the drivers side front. Took me longer to get that bad boy in then the other three combined. LOL! I pulled everything out on the driver side engine compartment and the inner fender. Hey, anything worth doing is worth.... well we'll leave that one alone.

If you work on stuff long enough you find you can spend an inordinate amount of time on any project, even otherwise "easy" ones.
I once spent 2+ hours trying to get a factory oil filter off! (And cut the crap out of my hand doing it!)

That's good PrairieDog! I switched over to Donaldson Oil Filters for this upcoming oil change and just noticed the filter has no flutes like the Fleetguard. This should be interesting.
