I don't think I spelled that right. Anyway, does anyone out there in Cummins land know what manufacturer makes the best Pitman arm replacement, and where the best place to buy one is. i would appreciate any input,

Thanks Jim

My Pitman is due for replacement

I am wondering the same thing. My brother helped me go over my frontend carefully looking for a source of snap/pop coming through the steering and found my pitman arm is well on its way out. I guess greasing every 5-8k isn't enough to make it last more than 60k :(

The pitman arms are manufacturered for Dodge by TRW. Moog also makes one for the 2x4 2500, 3500 and 2x4 cab/chas. About $60 at Dodge, Napa, Oreilly etc.

The 4x4 pitman arm is available from Napa and Dodge about 85 and 130 respectively.

Good luck

Andy

Thanks for you help guys.

Well there is no Autozone, Napa says Moog just came out with the pitman arm but no pricing yet so no availability for a little while. . . which is fine, I can live with it if I have to. Altho if it's under $60 from the dealer I may just pick one up.

From what the parts places told me there was a change in 2000 and they can't be interchanged with older rigs. My brother and I looked at it closer last night and when you crank the wheel back and forth there is a fair amount of slop/looseness at the joint. I don't know why greasing it regularly wasn't enough to make it last over 60k :(
