Good luck

Howdy all,

How about those of us up in the Sierra foothills, or from anywhere, get together one last time before the end of the year just to eat and BS about our trucks? I don't intend for this to be a huge type of event, just a nice simple get together. Any and everyone welcome, friends, family, neighbors, come on out!

I am busy for most every Saturday until the end of the year, so I picked:

Sunday November 24th @ 09:00 AM

The Waffle Shop, Placerville CA

Take highway 50 into Placerville, from either direction.

Exit at Schnell School Road.

Go south 200 yards to Broadway.

Turn left on Broadway

The Waffle Shop is on the left hand side of the road, across the street from the Canned Food Warehouse, the $. 99 store, etc. .

UPDATE:

For everyone coming from the West end of Sacramento, a non-TDR member (Jake Scharosch) would like me to pass this info along. He is interested in meeting with anyone who would like to caravan up to Placerville. His suggestion:

Meet at Bradshaws Restaurant which is just south of highway 50 off of Bradshaw Rd. Meet at ~8:00 AM, leave there at 8:15 AM.

Jake's information if you wish to contact him is:

I am going to try to make it. The wife and daughter have plans for the day and there won't be a Winston Cup race, and I don't have any plans to be hunting.

Count me in.

I plan to be there.

As a member of the Wolf Pack  (Mutt Pack to some  ), my transmission is available for a ride. It has it all, with an 89% TC.

To smoke or not to smoke, thats the question! :-laf

If you are interested, after breakfast, we could do a little shopping in downtown Placerville. Many of you may not be aware that Placerville is a very unique little town, with a lot of history, and some neat shops.

We have the oldest  Hardware store this side of the Mississippi. Some very unique Xmas gifts.

We have a unique museum also.

Some of us natives can be tour guides.

What do you think, it might make it interesting for the wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, or?

Wayne

I also will try to make it.

Diesel Gunner, You go right past Dixon on your way up. Let me know what time your leaving and I'll hook up with you.

UPDATE

I just updated the original post, so for those of you who have already replied, especially you guys from Dixon, Manteca, etc. who will be coming from the Sacramento direction, re-read the original post.

Tom

Tour guide update.

The wife says we could go to Apple Hill if you are interested. It is a big deal. In Camino, apple related; pies, gifts, etc. I bet you can’t go just once.

Give me some input, Placerville shopping and/or Apple Hill?

Breakfast, shopping in HangTown (Placerville), lunch at Apple Hill?

Wayne

The wife says she may not go if no one is interested in Placerville shopping and/or Apple Hill.

If there is any interest, let me know.

sorry guys,

I can't make this one... .....

I spent 6 hours today raking and blowing leaves from my yard, tomorrow I have to do Mom's as I missed her last weekend due to a fan clutch overhaul.

I think Nowel wants to do something at Sac Raceway next Saturday, I will see you there

All I can say is WOW!!!

I never expected so many folks to come up to Placerville just for breakfast. We had just at 20 or so. Poor waitresses freaked out. Guess next time I should make reservations, huh??? :p

I don't remember all the new names I learned, but I most certainly want to thank each and every one of you, especially you guys that came from a fair distance. Scott & Donna (hope I spelled your wife's name correctly), Greg (Cumminspwr) and his new truck, Sheldon, ABlakemore, Diesel Gunner, and all the rest.

Wayne, on behalf of those who followed you and your lovely wife on the Apple Hill tour, I would like to thank you both for your kind guiding expertise. That trip to Enterprise Mine sounds like a winner. Will have to do that next summer!

Thanks again everyone.

Tom

Sounds great Tom - YOU actually showed up for this one eh?:p ;) :D

Great turnout - I'd like to have been there too - just not a good morning person - and 150 miles round trip for bacon and eggs is too much for my lazy, aging constitution to deal with!

Maybe see y'all at the next local event - sure hope so!:D

Just wanted to chime in here and say thanks to Tom and everyone else who showed up. I very much enjoyed talking to all of you and checking out your rigs.

Even my Pop got a kick out of it. He is retired now and drove just about everything under the sun for about 40 years. He especially liked seeing some of you guys make smoke (you know who you are).

Will definately be attending more get togethers.

I am starting a reminder sheet of those interested in this type activity. I find my senior moments are more frequent, and I can’t remember everyone. I can now understand why we carry an ID.

Could you send me a PM of the names of those that made it to the breakfast? Include their TDR handle, who came with them, and that kind of stuff.

Include any non-TDR members.

This list can help us notify those interested in future events.

Wayne
