My 92 runs Great!!!! But leaks like a... . Well it was called the Valdeez at work till I changed the rear main seal last fall. I have plans on Pulling the engine and Transmision this summer and do a complete gasket and seal job on EVERYTHING while its out. Also plans for PODs and stiffer TC @ the same time. My question or request is for as much info or input on what else I should check for and or watch out for while its out. Also where to get all the best seals and gaskets. I dont mind mail ordering since I have lots of time to plan and wont start untill I'm ready.

It has 160K on it and the trans was replaced by the prev owner 30K back. Stock I'm sure. They were not "enthusiasts".

All suggestions will be appreciated.

Well it will come out but before you get it out and back in, you will know why Dodge has the engine in place and sits the cab and fenders around it. My suggestion to you is do the stuff you can get to without pulling the engine. It isn't a small block Chevy.

Go with Cummins gaskets.

Check with the dealer for your transmission pan gasket. I got my last one there for about $10. It is really heavy duty and I have reused it after another fluid change with no problems.

Fenders too? I was figuring on the Radiator, intercooler and front grill/crosmember. But will they need to come out too? I know its allot for one project but I'm also doing the front suspension as well. But I'd like to avoid that fender step.

As a 2x puller my two cents would be:

Make sure your engine hoist is up to the job.

Only remove the radiator

(if you do the front clip you might as well remove the fenders)

Remember if your lift runs out of height to deflate the tires

It's not that bad just remember to stay out from under it.

Good luck with it. :)
