I'm trying to do this right, by doing trans. before more HP, but I do not think that I'll see a 6,000 or even a 3,000$$$ trans. for the holiday, tryin to see if I can have my cake and eat it too. maybe get parts and build or sell motorcycle to buy , I do not plan on pulling compitiion , racing , but will be pulling 7-10k airstream , mountains ,4" exhaust & brake , maybe 350-400 HPs, so the ??? are do I need a triple disk vs. just a good one, cost of all of these, by parts through Goerend or ? where [ which ones] then build , do they make changes that a do it yourselfer cann't, do not want to break down 100 miles from nowhere [ gold mining-prospecting] and spend who knows what for tow,

call dave and talk to him, he will not sell you something you don't need or want, from my own experience you'll want to use a VB and TC at the very least, I did mine with the expectation of not going over 350HP, the bug bit me bad and now I'm looking for 500HP on a single charger and who knows what next year will bring.

I have called Dave many times with questions and he always had time for me and his parts have held up well with no problems.

A single disc will probably be just fine you. I have the triple disk because of the heavy low speed towing that I do. Dave is one heck of a guy. :D Great trans, too. Oo.

Thanks guys , I've called him once and he was very helpfull , but with money being short , I'm trying to see what I can do on my own , and I felt that I didn't want to take up too much of his time , thought I would gather as much info here as possible and save calling him when I get to the tight spots.

I was in the EXACT position about a week ago except mine went out.

I went with a local transmission guy that knows his stuff. He has worked on some of the "built" transmissions. When I was quoted half the price of the big name transmissions with more options I couldnt pass it up.

I would just check around and see if anyone around you knows what they are doing with these trannys. If you feel you know more than they seem to know I wouldnt let them touch it.

I just couldnt sale my gsxr750 for a transmission. ;)
