Plastic Tailgate Cap

I used that DeZee cover on my 89 was the best and with stood the test. But my 2013 with the plastic cap I'm not so sure it will work....

That may solve the problem for some, sounds like OP beats them up pretty bad. It would probably be a dented up mess in no time .

Yea, Personally, I like the plastic cause it's cheap and easy to replace and I drag a lot of stuff across it without damage.
