Does anybody have anything to say about those snap in plastic window lips that Geno's sells?

I smoke cigars and with the window down and no windwing it's loud and breezy.

Do those things work ?>>>

I don't know about the ones from Genos, but I have had Ventvisors that fit in the window channel on my last three trucks. I could not imagine not having them anymore. They work great as far as I am concerned. Many pros and cant really think of any cons right now.

After looking at the Geno's catalog that came with TDR 48, I see that Geno's sells the Ventvisors snap in. They are cheaper than I paid. For that price you cant go wrong.

desertryder, I have the Geno's vent visors on my 97. I had the Dodge ones on my 94 and I love both of them. I've also had the ones that stick on the outside of the door and would not recommed them to anyone. Every set of those I've had always fell off. I broke one of the Geno's vents(took it out to wash it and my son jumped on it) and they sent me a new one at on charge. Again, I would highly recommend them. Good luck,Mike

I don't know how thick the A-pillar is on 3g's, but adding the visor to my 94 Ram gasser made for about a 5" blind spot. I actually hit a guy in the crosswalk once :{ because as he was walking and I was turning left, he stayed in that blind spot. I'm not blaming the pillar or visor, but that width didn't help. Just be careful that nothing is hiding there!

We have dark smoke grey (almost look black) that fit in the window channels. Yo can see well enough through them so as to avoid the unfortunate problem mentioned above. Great for fresh air cooling so you don't have to run the AC as much.

The ones people seem to like are the ones that slide into the window channel, not stickon the outside, right?

Are these the "quicksnap" ventvisor?

I have the vent visors that mount on the outside of window frame door. I will agree they will come loose after a time period. So far they have not on my 03, over two years now, but had them on other trucks that did. One key factor if you install those is to make sure your mounting surface is real clean first. The one reason I went with the outer mounted style was because I was planning on painting them to match color of truck "white". The window channel style would look funny to me if painted to match truck I think, can't really say I've seen window channel one's painted for sure JMO. The one's I have now I do have to repair two of them though one on drivers side developed a crack somehow (probably a rock hit it) and the passenger side I broke installing my tow mirror, getting in to big a hurry and it being cold when I installed them, but I can fix it when I get the time. :-laf I do like the fact the window channel style can be removed, cleaned, and easily replaced if broken. :D

I like the snap-in ventvisors on the front windows but not the rear. The ones for the rear didn't work for me so I left them off. The rear windows would hit them on the way up and it would stop the window about 1-2" from the top. Aside from the annoyance, it was also stressing out the rubber weatherstripping big time. The rear ones don't "snap" in; they fit kind of tight but require an adhesive strip to hold them in place.

Desertryder, I have had these on a past vehicle and functionally they work great. They do cut down on the air turbulence, and allow you to crack the windows and vacuum out smoke. It's particularly nice to be able to crack the windows when it's raining and not have water blow in.

The ONLY downside to these visors is they look like crap. No matter which kind you get, they look cheesy and tacked on. It all depends on your personal blend of function vs fashion. I would like to have them but just can't go there again... it's just too 'pimp my ride' looking for my taste.

For those that have vent visors, do they increase wind noise when the windows are up?

I am assuming that there is less wind noise if the window is down just an inch or so.

DBond,

I do not hear any increased wind noise with the windows up. It is definitely less wind noise with window down a few inches.
